WHAT I TREAT

Legal stress shows up in many ways.

Family court, a custody dispute, a workplace claim, a contested estate, a case against someone who hurt you. The system is slow, adversarial and exhausting by design — and it asks the most of you when you have the least.

However long it drags on — you can stay steady through it.

Therapy room armchair
01.

Dread before every hearing

A knot that starts building weeks out.

02.

Sleeplessness

Rehearsing statements and cross-examination at 3am.

03.

Hypervigilance

Every email from the solicitor spiking your heart rate.

04.

Feeling disbelieved

Having to prove what happened to you, over and over.

05.

Anger with nowhere to go

At the other side, the system, the delays.

06.

Being triggered by the other party

Sitting in a room with the person you left, or the person who hurt you.

07.

Financial fear

Costs that climb while the outcome stays uncertain.

08.

Exhaustion

Running a case alongside a life, a job, children.

09.

Losing yourself in the fight

Becoming someone you don’t recognise.

10.

Fear of the outcome

A future that hinges on a decision you can’t control.

WHY ‘JUST STAY CALM IN THERE’ DOESN’T WORK

Court is a threat. Your nervous system is right about that.

Your solicitor says stay composed, stick to the facts, don’t react. Good advice — delivered to a nervous system that experiences the courtroom as danger.

THE PREFRONTAL CORTEX

Where the strategy lives.

The facts, the advice, the plan — the level your lawyer works at. It knows what to say. It goes offline the moment the other party walks in.

THE LIMBIC SYSTEM

Where the alarm fires.

A nervous system reading the process, the person and the stakes as threat. Settle it, and you can think, speak and hold your ground — which is exactly where my work goes.

You know exactly what you need to say. Your nervous system is busy preparing to run. That’s the gap good legal advice can’t bridge.

WHAT A SESSION INVOLVES

Three simple steps.

01.

UNDERSTAND WHAT’S FIRING

We start gently — where the process is hitting hardest, what it’s triggering, and what you need to get through the next stage.

02.

STEADY THE SYSTEM

A simple, gentle process, a little like a visualisation, that settles the threat response around hearings, the other party and the outcome. You stay fully conscious throughout.

03.

HOLD YOUR GROUND

Then we build resilience for the long haul — sleep, composure under cross-examination, and a sense of self the process can’t take. Most clients feel a noticeable shift by the end of their very first session.

My personal mission is to get my client at least some relief, from their very first session.

REAL STORIES, REAL RESULTS

What it feels like on the other side.

Working with Sarah has been the best decision I have ever made. Her professionalism, warmth and skill are second to none. I highly recommend Sarah’s services.
Sarah’s approach is wildly unconventional — and effective! Therapists I’ve seen previously have wanted me to rehash my past until I’m blue in the face. Literally a life-changing experience.

WHY WORK WITH ME

The difference you’ll actually feel.

01.

STEADINESS, NOT STRATEGY

I’m not your lawyer and won’t pretend to be. I work on the one thing they can’t: how you hold up inside it.

02.

TRAUMA-INFORMED

If the case involves someone who hurt you, this work is built for that. You won’t be asked to relive it here.

03.

PRIVATE AND SEPARATE

Independent of your legal team and confidential. What we do here doesn’t become part of the record.

04.

NO WAITLIST, NO REFERRAL

Private practice means no GP referral and no Medicare waitlist. Begin when you’re ready.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

My approach isn’t for everyone — and I’d rather be honest about that.

This is for you if…

  • You’re in the middle of proceedings and it’s running your sleep, your health and your days
  • You freeze, flood or fall apart around hearings or the other party
  • You want to get through this steady, not just get through it
  • You want somewhere private that isn’t your lawyer or your family

It may not be the fit if…

  • You’re in an unsafe situation right now — your safety comes first, and I can help you find the right support
  • You’re in acute crisis and need immediate clinical or psychiatric care
  • You’re looking for ongoing, open-ended talk therapy rather than resolution
  • You’re not quite ready — and that timing deserves respect

If the case involves current danger, your safety comes first — 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) is available 24 hours a day, and 000 in an emergency. Otherwise, the free consult is exactly where we work out whether I can help.

AND IF I’M NOT THE RIGHT HELP?

My promise.

I’ll get you to whoever is.

Sometimes what the process is stirring up is something older — trauma, a mood disorder, or a level of need that calls for specialist care alongside this work.

If that becomes apparent while we’re working together, I won’t leave you to work it out alone. Your investment goes toward identifying what’s actually going on and coaching you toward the right approach — and I’ll act as your champion through the system, so you get a shortcut instead of years of trial and error.

I can’t stand the thought of needless suffering. You’ll be delivered safely to the right help, either way.

In 98% of the cases I take on, I am the right help. The other 2% leave with a clear path to the person who is.

LET’S BE HONEST

You don’t need to lose yourself to win this.

The nights spent rehearsing. The dread before every email. The person you’re becoming in the fight. None of that has to be the shape of your life — even while the case is still running.

So let’s keep you steady. Let’s get cracking.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your questions, answered.

01.Can what I say to you be used in court?

This work is private and independent of your legal matter. I keep the brief records required by professional standards, and I’m not part of the proceedings. If you have specific concerns, raise them with your solicitor and we’ll work within them.

02.Do I have to talk through the whole case?

No. You share only what you choose to. Because we work with the nervous-system response rather than the facts, you never have to recount the details.

03.Can this help before a specific hearing?

Yes. Many women come to me with a date looming. Settling the alarm around that day is exactly what this work does, often quickly.

04.Will I be hypnotised, or lose control?

No. You remain fully conscious and in control at every moment. The change work is gentle, closer to a guided visualisation than anything you’ve seen on stage.
