WHAT I TREAT

Reactivity shows up in many ways.

It isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s a short fuse, sometimes a shutdown, sometimes a wave of feeling that takes hours to pass. The source is the same. So is the way through.

However it shows up for you — this is a pattern, not a flaw.

01.

Snapping at loved ones

The people you most want to be patient with get the sharpest edges — partners, children, family.

02.

A short fuse

A simmering tension that spills over at small things, out of all proportion to what triggered it.

03.

Emotional flooding

A wave of feeling that arrives all at once and overwhelms you before you can think clearly.

04.

Guilt afterwards

The relentless replay of how you reacted, and deciding it proves something is wrong with you.

05.

Shutting down

Going numb, withdrawing or freezing when the emotion gets too big — the other side of overwhelm.

06.

Resentment

Anger that never quite discharges, quietly building under the surface.

07.

Difficulty calming down

Once activated, struggling to bring yourself back — the feeling lingers long after the moment has passed.

08.

Hypervigilance

Always braced, always scanning, never quite able to relax even when everything is fine.

09.

Feeling ‘too much’

A lifelong sense of being too sensitive, too intense — and the shame that travels with it.

10.

Stress and burnout

A nervous system that’s been running on high for so long that overwhelm has become your normal.

WHY ‘JUST STAY CALM’ HAS NEVER WORKED

The reaction fires before you can think.

The usual advice is to manage it in the moment — count to ten, breathe, talk yourself down. It can take the edge off. It almost never holds.

THE PREFRONTAL CORTEX

Where self-control lives.

Rational thought, intention, willpower — the level coping techniques work at. It knows how you want to respond, but it’s too slow to stop the surge.

THE LIMBIC SYSTEM

Where the surge actually fires.

The fight, flight, freeze response. By the time your thinking brain catches up, the reaction has already launched — which is exactly where my work goes.

By the time you remember to breathe, the reaction has already fired. That’s the gap coping techniques can’t close.

WHAT A SESSION INVOLVES

Three simple steps.

01.

MAP THE TRIGGER PATTERN

We start gently — the situations that hijack you, how it shows up in your body, and where the pattern began. Share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.

02.

RECALIBRATE THE RESPONSE

A simple, gentle process, a little like a visualisation, that helps your nervous system swap the old reactive pattern for a steadier one you choose. You stay fully conscious throughout.

03.

TEST THE RESULTS

Before you leave, we confirm the change has taken hold — so you don’t just hope you’ll respond differently, you feel that you will. Most clients feel a noticeable shift by the end of their very first session.

98% of my clients report their issue resolved, to their satisfaction, in under six sessions.

REAL STORIES, REAL RESULTS

What it feels like on the other side.

I have spent 10 years stuck and paralysed with indecision. After one session with Sarah, I have been able to make moves towards what I want in my personal life and career, without overwhelm or fear.
Sarah is a person who can connect to anyone instantly. She gets you and is passionate to get you to where you want to be. She has done it for herself and she has the tools to get you there. You won’t regret it.

WHY WORK WITH ME

The difference you’ll actually feel.

01.

LIVED EXPERIENCE

I didn’t learn about emotional overwhelm from a textbook. I lived years of a nervous system stuck on high alert, and made a full recovery.

02.

RECALIBRATION, NOT MANAGEMENT

I’m not here to hand you more techniques to white-knuckle through. My focus is resetting the response at its source, so calm is simply your baseline.

03.

TRAUMA-INFORMED

A safe, judgement-free space to heal — without reliving what you’ve been through.

04.

NO WAITLIST, NO REFERRAL

Private practice means no GP referral and no Medicare waitlist. Begin when you’re ready.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

My approach isn’t for everyone — and I’d rather be honest about that.

This is for you if…

  • You’re capable and composed on the outside, but reactive or flooded underneath
  • You’ve tried breathing techniques and self-talk, and you still get hijacked
  • You’re ready to actually change the response, not just white-knuckle through it
  • You want steadiness that holds under pressure, not just on calm days

It may not be the fit if…

  • Your reactivity is driven by a medical, hormonal or neurological condition
  • You’re in acute crisis and need immediate clinical or psychiatric care
  • You’re looking for ongoing, open-ended talk therapy rather than resolution
  • You’re not quite ready to make a change right now — and that’s okay

Not sure where you sit? That’s exactly what the free consult is for. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.

AND IF I’M NOT THE RIGHT HELP?

My promise.

I’ll get you to whoever is.

Sometimes reactivity is being driven by something underneath it — a hormonal or medical condition, a mood disorder, or something else that needs a different kind of care.

If that becomes apparent while we’re working together, I won’t leave you to work it out alone. Your investment goes toward identifying what’s actually going on and coaching you toward the right approach — and I’ll act as your champion through the system, so you get a shortcut instead of years of trial and error.

I can’t stand the thought of needless suffering. You’ll be delivered safely to the right help, either way.

In 98% of the cases I take on, I am the right help. The other 2% leave with a clear path to the person who is.

LET’S BE HONEST

You don’t need to keep hating yourself afterwards.

The moments you snap at the people you love. The exhaustion of holding it together all day. The guilt that follows every overreaction. None of that has to be the shape of your life.

So let’s open up the gap between feeling and reacting. Let’s get cracking.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your questions, answered.

01.How is this different from seeing a psychologist?

A psychologist typically works with your conscious thoughts, helping you understand and manage what’s happening. I work beneath that, with the nervous-system response actually driving it — which is why the change tends to be faster and more lasting.

02.Will I just be learning more coping techniques?

No — that’s the difference. Coping techniques try to manage a reaction after it’s already fired. This work changes how the reaction fires in the first place, so you’re not constantly managing in the moment.

03.Does this mean I’ll stop feeling my emotions?

Not at all — and you wouldn’t want that. The goal is to restore the gap between feeling and reacting, so your responses are yours to choose. You’ll still feel deeply. You just won’t get hijacked.

04.Do I have to relive what happened, or share every detail?

Not at all. Because we work with the subconscious rather than re-analysing the past, you can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. The approach is designed to create change without re-traumatising you.
