Let’s clear things up.
Your questions, answered.
If there’s something specific on your mind, it’s probably covered here.
GETTING STARTED
01.What if I don’t know where to start?
That’s completely okay. Many women know they’re not feeling like themselves, but find it hard to explain exactly what’s wrong or why.
You don’t need a diagnosis, a tidy story or a clear goal — I’ll ask focused questions and help you find the patterns from there.
02.What happens after I book a consultation?
You’ll get a short, optional form beforehand — helpful if you’d rather write down what’s been happening than say it out loud, and it means I arrive already understanding your situation.
I’ll call at the scheduled time, or we can meet online if you prefer. If I believe I can help, you’ll receive a written therapy plan to consider in your own time.
READ MY PROCESS ▸03.What happens during the free consultation?
A relaxed, private conversation, about 15 minutes. It’s separate from therapy, and you won’t be asked to go into painful experiences in detail.
Consultations are held by phone, with online available on request.
04.Will I be pressured to begin therapy?
No. I’ll only recommend a program if I genuinely believe it’s suited to you. There’s no obligation, and you’ll have time to consider your written plan privately.
05.What if you’re not the right therapist for me?
I’ll be honest with you. Some symptoms and circumstances need a different kind of support — if that’s the case, I’ll explain why and help point you toward someone better placed to help.
06.Why is there sometimes a wait?
I only work with 10 women at a time, so I can give each one my full attention. It means places are genuinely limited, and there’s occasionally a short wait — but once we begin, you have my complete focus.
YOUR THERAPY
07.What can you help me with?
Anxiety, panic attacks, emotional overwhelm and the lasting effects of trauma are where I specialise — plus low confidence, rumination, guilt, anger, grief and difficult life transitions.
Sometimes the symptoms are clear. Sometimes you just know something isn’t right. Either way, we can start there.
08.Do I need a diagnosis or GP referral?
No. Many of my clients have never had a formal diagnosis — we work from what you’re experiencing, not a label.
09.Will I have to talk about everything that happened?
No. You stay in control of what you share, at a pace that feels safe. My focus is on what’s keeping the symptoms active now, not making you revisit the past.
10.What happens during a therapy session?
Every session has a clear purpose, based on your plan. We review how you’ve felt since last time, work through what’s most useful, and check the result together before we finish.
11.How is your approach different from traditional talk therapy?
Talking matters, but it’s not all we do. I facilitate therapeutic processes that help your nervous system calm itself, resolve old hurt and rebuild your confidence — so you move from being a passenger in your own life to sitting back in the driver’s seat.
12.What therapeutic methods do you use?
Every plan is bespoke — modern psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, Timeline Therapy, attachment-focused EMDR and nervous-system regulation, selected for you, not applied the same way to everyone.
Nothing happens without your understanding and consent.
MEET SARAH ▸13.How quickly might I notice a difference?
98% of my clients report their issue resolved, to their satisfaction, in under six sessions — some notice a shift from the very first one.
Every nervous system is different, so I can’t promise a specific timeline, but progress is reviewed every session so we can adjust when needed.
THE BESPOKE THERAPY PROGRAM
14.How does the program work?
Private 60-minute sessions, structured around your goals. After your consultation, you’ll get a written plan explaining what’s keeping your symptoms active, what we’ll work on, and how we’ll track progress.
15.Do you offer individual therapy sessions?
I no longer offer one-off sessions to new clients. Lasting change needs continuity — a structured program lets us work towards clear goals without the uncertainty of open-ended therapy.
16.Why are weekly appointments recommended?
Weekly sessions keep momentum, while still giving you time between appointments to integrate what we’ve covered and notice what’s working — and what we might have missed.
If weekly isn’t practical, we’ll find a rhythm that works during your consultation.
17.Is support available between sessions?
Yes. Text support is included, so you can share progress or flag something that’s come up. I respond within 48 hours — this isn’t for emergencies or crisis support.
18.What happens when the program is complete?
We review your progress throughout. An optional integration call is available around four weeks later, to check how things are holding. There’s no expectation that therapy continues indefinitely.
19.What happens if it doesn’t work for me?
I hold a 98% success rate by being thorough about fit before we begin. My approach works exceptionally well for anxiety, trauma, panic attacks and emotional overwhelm — but it isn’t right for every presentation, and I’m upfront about that from our first conversation.
On the rare occasion something only becomes clear once we’re working together, I’ll help you find the right practitioner for what you need, and refund any sessions you haven’t yet used, less a small fee for the time this takes.
APPOINTMENTS AND PRIVACY
20.Do you offer online and in-person therapy?
Yes. My primary service is private online therapy, available worldwide from Brisbane. In-person appointments in Brisbane may be available by request, subject to availability.
21.Is therapy confidential?
Yes. There are limited exceptions — such as when required by law, or a serious concern for someone’s safety.
22.Can I claim Medicare or private health rebates?
No. This is a completely private service — no Medicare, Mental Health Treatment Plan or private health insurance rebates, and no NDIS, WorkCover or insurer-funded arrangements. With my time and skillset, I’d rather focus on helping my clients than on the paperwork that funded arrangements bring with them.
STILL WONDERING?
Still wondering whether therapy is right for you?
You don’t need to make a decision before speaking with me. Your free consultation is simply a chance to tell me what’s been happening and get an honest recommendation.
