WHAT I TREAT

Guilt and shame show up in many ways.

They rarely announce themselves. They hide in the way you talk to yourself, the things you can’t forgive, and the sense that you have to earn your place. The source is the same. So is the way through.

However long you’ve carried it — it was never yours to hold.

Sarah Buckle
01.

Self-blame

Carrying responsibility for things that happened to you, or around you, that were never yours to hold.

02.

A sense of being fundamentally wrong

A deep, persistent feeling that something is broken in you — even when nothing is.

03.

Replaying the past

Re-running decisions, conversations and moments, looking for where you failed.

04.

Over-apologising

Saying sorry for existing — for taking up space, for having needs, for being seen.

05.

Difficulty receiving

Brushing off compliments, downplaying success, and finding it hard to accept care.

06.

Hiding parts of yourself

Keeping the ‘real you’ out of sight, certain that if people saw it, they’d leave.

07.

Guilt for resting

Feeling you haven’t earned a break, a treat, or a moment for yourself.

08.

Mother guilt

The constant sense that you’re getting it wrong, however hard you try.

09.

Survivor and bystander guilt

Carrying what happened to someone else as though you should have stopped it.

10.

Shame after trauma or abuse

Blaming yourself for what was done to you — a weight that belongs to someone else entirely.

WHY KNOWING IT WASN’T YOUR FAULT HASN’T HELPED

Shame doesn’t listen to reason.

You may already know, logically, that it wasn’t your fault. Everyone’s told you so. And a deeper part of you flatly refuses to believe it.

WHAT YOU KNOW

Where logic lives.

Rational understanding — the level reassurance works at. It knows the facts. It just can’t reach the part of you that’s still holding the verdict.

WHAT YOU FEEL

Where shame actually lives.

An identity-level belief, formed under pressure and stored beneath conscious awareness — which is exactly where my work goes, gently.

Everyone can tell you it wasn’t your fault. Until the part of you holding the verdict agrees, nothing changes. That’s the gap reassurance can’t bridge.

WHAT A SESSION INVOLVES

Three simple steps.

01.

FIND WHERE IT’S HELD

We start gently — where the guilt bites hardest, and where the story first took hold. You never have to recount the details. You’re in control, always.

02.

PUT THE WEIGHT DOWN

A simple, gentle process, a little like a visualisation, that helps you release a verdict that was never yours, and settle into a truer sense of who you are. You stay fully conscious throughout.

03.

TEST THE RESULTS

Before you leave, we confirm the shift has settled — so you don’t just hope it’s lighter, you feel that it is. Most clients feel a noticeable shift by the end of their very first session.

98% of my clients report their issue resolved, to their satisfaction, in under six sessions.

REAL STORIES, REAL RESULTS

What it feels like on the other side.

Sarah is a person who can connect to anyone instantly. She gets you and is passionate to get you to where you want to be. She has done it for herself and she has the tools to get you there. You won’t regret it.
Sarah’s approach is wildly unconventional — and effective! Therapists I’ve seen previously have wanted me to rehash my past until I’m blue in the face. Literally a life-changing experience.

WHY WORK WITH ME

The difference you’ll actually feel.

01.

LIVED EXPERIENCE

I didn’t learn about shame from a textbook. I spent years believing I was the problem, and changed it at the root.

02.

RELEASE, NOT REASSURANCE

I’m not here to tell you it wasn’t your fault one more time. My focus is releasing the verdict at its source, so you can finally believe it.

03.

TRAUMA-INFORMED

A safe, judgement-free space to heal — without reliving what you’ve been through.

04.

NO WAITLIST, NO REFERRAL

Private practice means no GP referral and no Medicare waitlist. Begin when you’re ready.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

My approach isn’t for everyone — and I’d rather be honest about that.

This is for you if…

  • You know, logically, it wasn’t your fault — and you still can’t forgive yourself
  • You’ve talked it through for years and the weight hasn’t lifted
  • You’re ready to actually put it down, not keep re-examining it
  • You want a gentle approach that doesn’t require you to relive what happened

It may not be the fit if…

  • You’re in acute crisis and need immediate clinical or psychiatric care
  • You’re looking for ongoing, open-ended talk therapy rather than resolution
  • You’re not quite ready to make a change right now — and that’s okay
  • Your guilt relates to harm you’re still causing — that calls for a different kind of work first

Shame deserves gentleness, never a hard sell. The free consult is exactly where we work out, unhurried, whether this is right for you.

AND IF I’M NOT THE RIGHT HELP?

My promise.

I’ll get you to whoever is.

Sometimes guilt and shame are being held in place by something underneath them — a mood disorder, unresolved trauma, or something else that needs a different kind of care.

If that becomes apparent while we’re working together, I won’t leave you to work it out alone. Your investment goes toward identifying what’s actually going on and coaching you toward the right approach — and I’ll act as your champion through the system, so you get a shortcut instead of years of trial and error.

I can’t stand the thought of needless suffering. You’ll be delivered safely to the right help, either way.

In 98% of the cases I take on, I am the right help. The other 2% leave with a clear path to the person who is.

LET’S BE HONEST

You don’t need to keep serving a sentence you never deserved.

The apologies for taking up space. The rest you won’t let yourself have. The version of you that stays hidden because you’re certain she isn’t enough. None of that has to be the shape of your life.

So let’s put the weight down. Let’s get cracking.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your questions, answered.

01.Do I have to talk through what happened?

No. Because we work with the subconscious rather than re-analysing the past, you never have to recount the details. You share only what you choose to, and you remain in control throughout.

02.How is this different from seeing a psychologist?

A psychologist typically works with your conscious thoughts, helping you understand and manage what’s happening. I work beneath that, with the nervous-system response actually driving it — which is why the change tends to be faster and more lasting.

03.What if I really did get it wrong?

Being human means sometimes getting it wrong. Guilt that fits the facts is useful — it prompts repair, and then it’s meant to leave. Shame that stays for years, or that punishes you for things done to you, is a different thing entirely. That’s what we resolve.

04.Will I be hypnotised, or lose control?

No. You remain fully conscious and in control at every moment. The change work is gentle, closer to a guided visualisation than anything you’ve seen on stage.
