WHAT I TREAT

Abandonment issues show up in many ways.

Someone left, or wasn’t there, or couldn’t be relied on — often early, often more than once. Your nervous system drew a conclusion about people, and it’s been protecting you from it ever since.

However early it began — the wound can close.

Sarah Buckle
01.

Expecting to be left

A quiet certainty that everyone goes eventually.

02.

Fear of rejection

Holding back, staying small, never asking — so it can’t hurt.

03.

Pushing people away first

Leaving before you can be left.

04.

Clinging and over-giving

Making yourself indispensable so they can’t go.

05.

Difficulty trusting

Waiting for the catch, the change, the exit.

06.

Feeling like a burden

Apologising for needs you’re allowed to have.

07.

Panic at distance

A cancelled plan or an unanswered message that feels like the end.

08.

Staying too long

In relationships and jobs that hurt, because leaving feels worse.

09.

A hole nothing fills

Loneliness that persists even when you’re loved.

10.

Not knowing who you are alone

An identity built around not being left.

WHY BEING LOVED NOW HASN’T HEALED IT

The wound is older than the relationship you’re in.

You may be with someone who stays, who’s reliable, who isn’t going anywhere. And a part of you is still packed and ready.

THE PREFRONTAL CORTEX

Where the evidence lives.

Years of someone staying, reassurance, proof — the level logic works at. It knows you’re safe now. It can’t reach the part still standing at the door.

THE LIMBIC SYSTEM

Where the conclusion is stored.

A nervous system that decided, early, that people leave. It runs that expectation beneath every relationship — which is exactly where my work goes, gently.

You know they’re staying. The part of you that was left is still waiting at the window. That’s the gap reassurance can’t bridge.

WHAT A SESSION INVOLVES

Three simple steps.

01.

FIND WHERE IT BEGAN

We start gently — where the fear fires now, and where the wound was first made. You never have to recount the hardest details.

02.

CLOSE THE WOUND

A simple, gentle process, a little like a visualisation, that lets your nervous system release the old conclusion and learn that you can be stayed for. You stay fully conscious throughout.

03.

TEST THE RESULTS

Before you leave, we confirm the shift has settled. Most clients feel a noticeable shift by the end of their very first session.

98% of my clients report their issue resolved, to their satisfaction, in under six sessions.

REAL STORIES, REAL RESULTS

What it feels like on the other side.

Sarah is a person who can connect to anyone instantly. She gets you and is passionate to get you to where you want to be. She has done it for herself and she has the tools to get you there. You won’t regret it.
Sarah’s approach is wildly unconventional — and effective! Therapists I’ve seen previously have wanted me to rehash my past until I’m blue in the face. Literally a life-changing experience.

WHY WORK WITH ME

The difference you’ll actually feel.

01.

LIVED EXPERIENCE

I know what it is to build a life around not being left, and what it takes to put that down at the root.

02.

NO RELIVING REQUIRED

You’ll never be asked to recount who left or how. The approach closes the wound without reopening it.

03.

SECURITY, NOT STRATEGIES

The goal isn’t managing the fear. It’s resolving it, so you can let people close without bracing.

04.

NO WAITLIST, NO REFERRAL

Private practice means no GP referral and no Medicare waitlist. Begin when you’re ready.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

My approach isn’t for everyone — and I’d rather be honest about that.

This is for you if…

  • You’re loved, and part of you is still waiting to be left
  • The fear has shaped your relationships, your work and how small you let yourself be
  • You’re ready to resolve the wound, not keep managing the symptoms
  • You want a gentle approach that doesn’t require reliving it

It may not be the fit if…

  • You have complex needs that call for specialist or medical care
  • You’re in acute crisis and need immediate clinical or psychiatric care
  • You’re looking for ongoing, open-ended talk therapy rather than resolution
  • You’re not quite ready — and that timing deserves respect

This deserves gentleness, never a hard sell. The free consult is exactly where we work out, unhurried, whether this is right for you — and if specialist or medical support would serve you better, I’ll say so honestly.

AND IF I’M NOT THE RIGHT HELP?

My promise.

I’ll get you to whoever is.

Sometimes abandonment fear is being held in place by something underneath it — complex trauma, a mood disorder, or a level of need that calls for specialist care.

If that becomes apparent while we’re working together, I won’t leave you to work it out alone. Your investment goes toward identifying what’s actually going on and coaching you toward the right approach — and I’ll act as your champion through the system, so you get a shortcut instead of years of trial and error.

I can’t stand the thought of needless suffering. You’ll be delivered safely to the right help, either way.

In 98% of the cases I take on, I am the right help. The other 2% leave with a clear path to the person who is.

LET’S BE HONEST

You don’t need to keep standing at the door.

The people you push away first. The needs you apologise for. The relationships you monitor for the exit instead of living inside. None of that has to be the shape of your life.

So let’s close the wound. Gently. Together.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your questions, answered.

01.Do I have to talk through everything?

No. You share only what you choose to. Because we work with the subconscious rather than re-analysing the past, you never have to recount the hardest details.

02.How is this different from seeing a psychologist?

A psychologist typically works with your conscious thoughts, helping you understand and manage what’s happening. I work beneath that, with the nervous-system response actually driving it — which is why the change tends to be faster and more lasting.

03.Is this the same as anxious attachment?

They overlap. Abandonment issues are the wound — the early experience of being left or unreliable care. Anxious attachment is one of the patterns that grows from it. This work resolves the wound, which is where the patterns come from.

04.Will I be hypnotised, or lose control?

No. You remain fully conscious and in control at every moment. The change work is gentle, closer to a guided visualisation than anything you’ve seen on stage.
