CALM THE ALARM
We settle the threat response that keeps the mind recruited – in session, not through willpower. Most women feel some relief by the end of session one, and many sleep differently that night.
If you replay conversations, rehearse the ones that haven’t happened, run every scenario and lie awake at 2am doing it all again – this page is for you. Overthinking isn’t a habit you lack the discipline to break. It’s a nervous system trying to solve a problem that thinking can’t solve.

“If you’re feeling lost, full of doubts, or like you’re going in circles with traditional talk therapy, just try speaking with Sarah. Just one session with her shifted how I see my life and my situation.”

WHAT IT IS
A loop is a thought that keeps returning because it never resolves: the conversation you replay, the decision you can’t make, the problem you turn over and over. The content changes; the loop doesn’t. That’s because the loop isn’t about the content.
WHAT CAUSES IT
When the nervous system feels unsafe, the mind is recruited to find the danger and fix it. But the unsafe feeling isn’t coming from the problem you’re thinking about – it’s coming from the body. So no amount of thinking resolves it, and the mind keeps trying.
The conscious brain · Prefrontal cortex
This is a brilliant problem-solver. It has been handed an impossible job: make a nervous system feel safe by reasoning. It cannot, so it never stops.
The subconscious brain · Limbic system
The loop is driven by a threat response running underneath thought. Settle the response, and the mind is released from the job – which is why my treatment works here, not on the thoughts.
WHY THIS IS HAPPENING TO YOU
Women who overthink are usually women who learned, somewhere, that staying ahead of things kept them safe. If you grew up reading a room, managing someone’s moods, or never quite knowing what was coming, your mind became a very good early-warning system. It still is. It just can’t tell the difference between then and now.
Often there is something specific underneath the loops: a betrayal that taught you not to trust your read, a loss you couldn’t prevent, a time when not thinking of everything cost you. The overthinking is not the problem. It’s the solution your system reached for, and it has run out of usefulness.
This is why mindfulness apps and thought-stopping techniques frustrate you. You’re being asked to quieten a mind that believes it’s keeping you alive.
There is nothing wrong with you. Your system is on high alert, trying to protect you. It can learn to stand down.
IS RECOVERY POSSIBLE?
The loop stops when the threat response driving it is resolved – not when you finally win the argument with yourself. When the nervous system settles, thinking goes back to being a tool you pick up and put down. That is what a Bespoke Therapy Program is built to do.
We settle the threat response that keeps the mind recruited – in session, not through willpower. Most women feel some relief by the end of session one, and many sleep differently that night.
Using attachment-focused EMDR and other proven methods, the experiences that taught you to stay three steps ahead are processed and filed as past.
With the loop gone, we rebuild self-trust and decisiveness – so you can make a call and move on, and switch off at night.
Every program is written for you, session by session, with the result each one is working towards agreed before we begin – and progress measured as we go.
