How I work, what you can expect from me, and what I'll need from you — so we both begin on exactly the same page.
Before we begin, it helps to be clear about how I work, what you can expect from me, and what I'll need from you in return.
None of this is here to catch you out. It's here so we both start with the same understanding — and so the focus can stay exactly where it belongs: on your results.
By booking or taking part in my services, you're agreeing to these terms. If something doesn't sit right with you, please raise it with me before we start rather than going ahead.
I'm Sarah Buckle, and I run Sarah Buckle Psychotherapy as a sole trader, ABN 52 517 184 411. You can contact me at sarah@sarahbuckle.com.au.
I provide private, one-to-one work using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Clinical Hypnotherapy (non-medical and non-diagnostic), and trauma-informed transformational coaching, delivered as a personalised Bespoke Therapy Program.
I want to be straightforward with you about this. My work is not medical treatment, a psychological or psychiatric diagnosis, psychiatric care, or a crisis or emergency service. It doesn't replace the care of your GP, psychologist, psychiatrist, or any other treating professional, and it's not a substitute for any medication or treatment they've prescribed.
The work we do is collaborative, and you take an active role in it. By working with me, you understand that:
So I can work with you safely, I'll ask you to share any relevant physical or mental health conditions, diagnoses, or medications before we begin, and to keep me updated if those change. Please don't stop or change any prescribed treatment without speaking to the professional who prescribed it — my work sits alongside that care, never in place of it.
Some conditions may mean this work isn't suitable for you, or that you'd be better supported elsewhere first. If I believe that's the case, I'll tell you honestly and, where I can, point you toward the right kind of support.
Your place is secured with a deposit, with the balance due as set out in your program proposal. Full pricing and payment details are confirmed in writing in your Bespoke Therapy Program Proposal before you commit to anything, so you'll always know exactly what you're agreeing to before you do.
Programs and intensives are personal to you and aren't transferable to anyone else unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
Life happens, and I'll always be reasonable. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule a session. With that notice, we'll simply find another time. Without it, a late cancellation or missed session may be charged or forfeited, because that time was held just for you and can't easily be filled at short notice.
Your deposit secures a place I then hold exclusively for you and turn away other enquiries to protect, so it isn't ordinarily refundable. Beyond that, if something goes wrong, I'll always look at your situation fairly and on its own merits — get in touch and we'll talk it through.
Importantly, nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. If my services fall short of the consumer guarantees you're entitled to, you may have a right to a remedy, and this refund policy doesn't change that.
All sessions are held online, by Zoom or a similar platform. To get the most from our time, you'll need a reliable internet connection, a private and quiet space where you won't be interrupted, and a device with a working camera and microphone. Please join from somewhere you feel safe and comfortable to do deep work — not, for example, while driving or in a public place.
If the technology fails on either side, we'll reschedule the affected session or pick up where we left off, with no penalty to you.
I don't record our sessions. The only exception is if you ask me to and we agree to it in advance — and either way, you'll never be recorded without your knowledge and consent. In the same way, please don't record our sessions without first checking with me.
I'm genuinely invested in you, and there's room for brief check-ins between sessions by text or email. That said, I'm not an on-call or crisis service, and I may not see or respond to messages immediately — usually within 48 hours on business days. If you ever need urgent help, please use the emergency contacts in section 16.
What you share with me stays confidential. The only exceptions are where the law requires disclosure, or where there's a serious risk of harm to you or someone else. (Section 7 of my Privacy Policy explains the platforms involved in holding your information.)
To deliver and manage your care, I use trusted platforms including HoneyBook, Stripe, and Zoom, and communication and AI tools including OpenAI's ChatGPT and Claude. These support service delivery, administration, and your experience as a client. How they handle your information is set out in my Privacy Policy.
The resources, recordings, worksheets, frameworks, and content I create and share with you are mine, and I'm glad for you to use them for your own personal benefit. Please don't copy, share, sell, or republish them without my written permission. The same goes for the content on my website.
I work with clients around the world. If you're outside Australia, you're responsible for understanding how services like NLP, hypnotherapy, and coaching are regarded where you live, and you take part on that basis. The laws of Queensland, Australia govern our agreement (see section 21), though you may also have rights under your own local laws.
I'm not a crisis service, and because we work online, I may not be able to help in real time if something urgent happens. If you're ever in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline straight away. In Australia, you can call 000, or reach Lifeline on 13 11 14 at any time.
To the fullest extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions and actions you take during or after our work, given that your participation is voluntary and the choices remain yours. This doesn't limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 18).
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. My services come with guarantees that can't be contracted out of, and these terms always operate alongside those rights.
I may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be on my website, with the date it last changed shown at the top. If you're a current client, any change won't affect a program you've already booked and paid for.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, that part is simply set aside and the rest continues to apply as normal.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
For any questions about these terms, please contact me directly at sarah@sarahbuckle.com.au.
A note on all this
I'd far rather you felt completely comfortable than left wondering.
