What I treat

Panic shows up in many ways.

Whether it strikes out of nowhere or builds in places you've learned to fear, the experience is terrifying – but the source, and the way through, is the same.

Sudden panic attacks

A wave of intense fear that arrives without warning – racing heart, breathlessness, and a sense of doom.

Fear of the next attack

The anxiety about panic itself – constantly bracing, scanning your body, waiting for it to happen again.

Avoidance

Cutting out the places, situations, or activities where panic once struck – and watching your world shrink.

Physical symptoms

Chest tightness, racing heart, dizziness, tingling, nausea – so physical it feels like a medical emergency.

Feeling unreal or detached

A frightening sense of being outside yourself or disconnected from reality during an episode.

Fear of losing control

The terror that you'll faint, lose your mind, or "go crazy" in front of everyone – even though you never do.

Nocturnal panic

Waking suddenly in the grip of panic – heart pounding, unable to understand what set it off.

Anticipatory anxiety

Hours or days of dread before an event, certain that this will be the time panic takes over.

Agoraphobic patterns

Avoiding crowds, travel, open spaces, or being far from "safety" – in case panic strikes where you can't escape.

Health anxiety after attacks

Convinced the physical symptoms must mean something is medically wrong – despite reassurance and clear tests.

Hyperventilation

Rapid, shallow breathing that intensifies the very symptoms feeding the panic spiral.

Exhaustion & hypervigilance

The draining toll of a body that never fully stands down – always braced for the next episode.

However frightening it feels – panic can be switched off at the source.

Is this right for you?

Who I work with best.

My approach isn't for everyone – and I'd rather be honest about that. Here's how to know if it's the right fit for you.

This is for you if…
  • You're living around your panic – avoiding places, bracing for the next attack
  • You've tried breathing techniques and reassurance, and panic still strikes
  • You're ready to actually resolve it – not just manage it forever
  • You want rapid, lasting relief and your life back
  • You're looking for a private, premium approach without waitlists or referrals
× It may not be the fit if…
  • Your symptoms are primarily driven by an underlying medical or cardiac condition
  • You're in acute crisis and need immediate clinical or psychiatric care
  • You're looking for ongoing, open-ended talk therapy rather than resolution
  • You're not quite ready to make a change right now – and that's okay

If you've never had your physical symptoms checked by a doctor, it's worth doing – panic is harmless, but it's always wise to rule out medical causes first. Beyond that, the free consult is exactly where we work out whether I can help. If I'm not the right person, I'll point you toward who is.

The science

Why you can't reason your way out mid-attack.

The standard advice is to ride it out – breathe, remind yourself you're safe, wait for it to pass. It can help you cope. But it rarely stops panic returning, and here's why.

Panic doesn't originate in rational thought. It's a misfiring of the limbic system – the primitive, subconscious part of the brain that runs your fight, flight, freeze response. It pulls the alarm when there's no real danger, and it doesn't listen to logic.

That's why I don't work at the level of talking yourself down. I work directly with the system that's pulling the alarm – correcting the false threat response at its source, so the panic doesn't just get easier to manage, it stops being triggered.

What to expect

What a session actually involves.

A truly different approach – with the vast majority of clients feeling a meaningful shift within the very first session. In sessions, not months.

01
Understand the alarm

We find what's firing it

We start gently – how your panic shows up, where it tends to strike, and where the pattern began. Because we work with the subconscious, you can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. You're in control, always.

02
Do the change work

We switch the alarm off

I guide you through a gentle, structured process – a little like a guided visualisation – that helps your nervous system stand down the false alarm and replace it with a settled, safe response. You stay fully conscious throughout.

03
Test the results

We prove it worked

Before you leave the session, I take you through a process to confirm the change has landed – so you don't just hope the panic is gone, you feel that it is. For most, a few sessions create a powerful, lasting result.

Why work with me

The difference you'll actually feel.

Lived experience

I've been where you are

I didn't learn about panic from a textbook. I lived a decade of anxiety and a nervous system stuck on high alert – and made a complete recovery. I understand the fear of it, and what real relief feels like on the other side.

Results, not coping

Resolution, not management

I'm not here to teach you to ride out the next attack. My singular focus is your total and lasting recovery – correcting the false alarm at its source so the panic stops being triggered.

Trauma-informed

A safe place to heal

Panic often has roots in past experience. My approach creates a safe, judgement-free space to heal – without the risk of re-living or re-traumatising what set it off.

No waitlist · No referrals

Begin when you're ready

Private practice means no GP referral and no Medicare waitlist. And because clients resolve things quickly, I often have near-term availability. You can begin when the timing is right for you.

The real question

What is the panic already costing you?

Most people focus on the cost of getting help. But living around panic has a price too – one you've been quietly paying for a long time.

The places you no longer go. The plans you cancel. The constant scanning of your own body. The way your world keeps shrinking to wherever feels "safe," while the things you used to do slip further out of reach.

The question isn't whether you can afford to resolve it. It's how much longer you're willing to pay the cost of not.

Simple, transparent investment

What it costs to resolve it.

Before you book

Your questions, answered.

How is this different from seeing a psychologist?
A psychologist typically works with your conscious thoughts – helping you understand panic and build strategies to ride it out. I work at the level beneath that, with the nervous-system alarm actually firing it. That's why the change tends to be faster and more lasting. Most of my clients come to me after therapy that helped them cope with panic, but never stopped it.
Should I see a doctor first?
If you've never had your physical symptoms checked, it's worth doing – panic itself is harmless, but it's always wise to rule out medical causes first. Once you know it's panic and not a medical issue, my work goes to the root of why the alarm keeps firing.
Will I be hypnotised, or lose control?
No. You remain fully conscious and in control at every moment. The change work is gentle – closer to a guided visualisation than anything you've seen on stage. I don't induce hypnosis unless a client specifically asks for it.
Do I have to relive my panic attacks in session?
Not at all. Because we work with the subconscious rather than re-triggering the experience, you can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. My approach is specifically designed to create change without re-traumatising you.
How many sessions will I need?
Your program is six structured sessions. This isn't open-ended therapy that stretches on for years – the work is designed to resolve it and have you on your way. We'll map out a bespoke plan together at your consult so you know what to expect before you begin.
Do I need a GP referral or a mental health plan?
No. This is a private practice, so there's no referral required and no Medicare waitlist to navigate. You can book directly, and because clients resolve things quickly, I often have near-term availability.
Is it really possible to stop panic this quickly?
I understand the scepticism – especially if you've lived with it for years. But rapid doesn't mean superficial. Because the work corrects the false alarm at its source rather than managing attacks over time, lasting change genuinely can happen in a handful of sessions. I've seen it in hundreds of clients, and I lived it myself.
