The science
The standard treatment for anxiety is CBT – it teaches you to notice anxious thoughts, challenge them, and replace them with rational ones. It's reasonable. But it has a fundamental flaw.
Anxiety doesn't originate in rational thought. It lives in the limbic system – the primitive, subconscious part of the brain that runs your fight, flight, freeze response. It operates below conscious awareness, and it doesn't respond to rational argument.
That's why I don't work at the level of your thoughts. I work directly with the system underneath them – interrupting the threat response at the source, so calm becomes your default rather than something you have to fight for.
